Wheat originated in Southwest Asia in the area known as the Fertile crescent.

This is a protein from wheat which has been turned partly into water through hydrolysis. Proteins are the nitrogen carrying constituents of living cells and protein treatments are said to be beneficial to hair and skin. They add gloss, body and lustre to hair. Wheat Protein contains both proteins and amino acids. The amino acids are readily absorbed by skin and hair, while the proteins coat the outer hair shaft, keeping the amino acids in place. The result is shiny, healthy looking hair!

This ingredient is made from germinated wheat seeds and even though some people are wheat intolerant, they do not have a reaction to this ingredient when applied topically.
